In her speech, Mrs Binh said that Vietnam has entered a new period of healing the wounds of war while speeding up national development in difficult circumstances. However, having experienced the long fight and many hardships, Vietnamese people can better understand the value of peace and freedom.

She expressed the hope that the conference would help all countries to promote mutual understanding, solidarity and cooperation in politics and economics.

During the two-day conference, participants discussed the UN resolution on national liberation, the role of the media in affirming the right for self-determination of all peoples, and women and youth’s role in liberating all nations all over the world.
