Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has instructed relevant agencies to enter negotiations with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on loans for the construction of the Mong Duong 1 thermal power plant in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
It is scheduled that the negotiations will last for a week later this month at ADB’s headquarters in the Philippines.
The PM instructed the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Foreign Affairs, Justice and Industry, the State Bank of Vietnam and the Electricity of Vietnam to make preparations for the talks.
PM Dung also approved a financial mechanism to be applied for the power plant and asked the Electricity of Vietnam and the Finance Ministry to complete relevant procedures to disburse money as soon as the project takes effect.
