More than 130 Thai companies are showcasing their products at the 11th Thai Product Expo, which opened in Hanoi on August 11.

Addressing the ceremony, Thai ambassador to Vietnam, Anunson Chinvano, said that Thai investors and entrepreneurs are very interested in learning about the potential of Vietnam’s retail market.

The ambassador said that apart from advertising Thai products, the event opens up an opportunity for Thai businesses to further study Vietnam’s retail market in order to seek cooperative opportunities with Vietnamese partners.

This year’s event not only promotes trade between the two countries but also helps Vietnamese people further understand Thai people and their culture. The highlight of these cultural activities will be special performances by traditional Thai dance troupes.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien affirmed that over the past years, Vietnam has achieved important socio-economic achievements, and expanded economic cooperation and investment activities with nations in the ASEAN bloc including Thailand.

The deputy minister expressed hope that the fair will also offer a chance for investors and producers of both countries to exchange experiences and expand multi-faceted collaboration

High quality products such as food and drink, household utensils, textiles, jewellery, healthcare and beauty products, automobiles, bicycles, decorations and souvenirs will be on display across nearly 200 pavilions.

The exhibition will run through to August 14.
