Athletes gear up for HCM City Int’l Judo Tourney

(VOV) - The Ho Chi Minh City Judo Federation (HJF) has announced more than 150 athletes from 13 countries have registered to compete at the upcoming competition set for October 17-18 at the Nguyen Du Competition Hall.

Following a six year hiatus, the 19th and first international edition of the event has attracted high profile martial artists from Japan, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Singapore, India and Thailand.

According to the organizers, the participating teams are quite strong – particularly those from Japan and the RoK who are fielding their teams with top athletes who have won numerous medals at international tournaments.

In addition, Singapore is sending athletes who earned medals at the 28th Southeast Asian Games this past June. Four representative teams from Vietnam will compete in 18 classes, hoping to earn medals.
