Central Da Nang city and Hoi An town in central Quang Nam province have been chosen as venues for the third Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Senior Officials Meeting (SOM III).

The Da Nang People's Committee has quoted the government office's official letter as saying that the meeting is scheduled to take place from September 6-17 in the framework of the year of APEC-Vietnam 2006.
