An anti-corruption e-gate was officially launched at http://chongthamnhung.thanhtra.gov.vn in Hanoi on June 28 by the Government Inspection Agency.

The inauguration ceremony attracted representatives from relevant ministries, departments, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Australian Embassy, the Swedish International Development Agency, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and press agencies.

A system that will bolster links between ministries and agencies involved in the fight against corruption has been given the go ahead by the General Inspector. It will serve as a venue for personnel to quickly and effectively update and exchange anti-corruption information.

The system will also help authorised agencies like the Central Steering Committee on Anti-corruption, the Government Inspection Agency, the Ministry of Public Security and the People's Supreme Procuracy to review reports on anti-corruption work so that they can draw up more effective measures to clean up corruption within the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ayuni Konishi, ADB director said the fight against corruption is a demanding task and the Government cannot resolve it by itself. It needs the involvement of the whole society. The anti-corruption e-gate will draw people from all walks of life into the fight against corruption in order to meet the target set by the Government. Mr Konishi highly valued the Government Inspection Agency’s efforts and said that the ADB will provide financial and technical support for anti-corruption e-gate to develop in Vietnam.
