Vietnam draws 0-0 in clash with RoK students

Vietnam drew 0-0 with a Republic of Korean (RoK) students team in a friendly match on March 2 in Hanoi.

While players from both sides had many chances to score, none were successful, although Vietnam played with 10 men in the last 20 minutes after defender Au Van Hoan was injured and the hosts had used all of their changes.

Coaches Hoang Van Phuc of Vietnam and Jeong Jin-hyuk of the RoK confirmed that their teams managed the ball well, but failed to net.

Phuc said the situation would have been different had his best striker, Le Cong Vinh, played.

Vinh suffered a twisted ankle during a training shift on March 1 and was unexpected sidelined.

The captain will also miss the last Asian Cup 2015 qualify match between Vietnam and Hong Kong in Hanoi on March 5.
