Two Vietnamese grandmasters Le Quang Liem and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son have been qualified for the second round of the 2011 World Chess Championships, which is taking place in Russia.

Liem got the entrance ticket after defeating Indonesian rival, Megaranto Susanto in the first round. His teammate, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son trounced Li Chao from China to take berth to the next round.

This year’s world chess championships has attracted 128 players from 46 countries and territories around the world. They are competing on a round robin format.
