The 2006 Asian Volleyball Championships for men’s clubs took place at Quan Ngua sport palace in Hanoi on May 21, drawing the participation of 11 teams from Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Kazakhstan, China, Bahrain, Myanmar, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Iran.
The 11 teams were divided into two groups – Group A (China, Bahrain, Myanmar, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Iran) and Group B (Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Kazakhstan). The winner of each group will compete in the final round, scheduled to be held on May 28.
At the opening match on May 21, host Vietnam lost to Indonesia 0-3.
