The Spanish International Cooperation Agency (SICA) has donated VND700 million to northernmost Ha Giang province to help the local people cope with natural calamities that usually occur during the rainy season.

Some VND250 million will be spent on organising two training courses for 150 people in eight communes of Yen Minh and Quang Binh districts. During the 3-month courses, learners will be trained to deal with the effects of freak weather such as whirlwinds, flash floods and extreme hails.

The remaining sum will be used to upgrade inter-hamlet roads in four communes of Yen Minh district and to build a storehouse in its Du Tien commune, as well as to repair two bridges in Tan Bac and Yen Ha communes of Quang Binh district.
