Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat has decided to set up a national organising board and a secretary board for the 4th Global Conference on Oceans, Coasts and Islands slated for April 7-11, 2008.

The boards, which are headed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Viet Thang will coordinate with relevant agencies and the Global Forum on Oceans, Coasts and Islands to work out an agenda for action.

The meeting is expected to raise the Vietnamese fisheries sector’s position and help local experts get access to latest coastal and marine management experiences.
