Vietnam wins regional bronze medal

Nguyen Thi Tu Anh scored a double to help Vietnam earn a bronze medal at the AFC U14 Girls’ Regional Championship for the ASEAN zone on June 5 in Vientiane, Laos.

Vietnam, who were the former winners, beat Myanmar 2-1 in the third-place playoff at Chao Anouvong Stadium.

Anh opened the scoring at the seventh minute, before adding the second in the 42nd mark to become the most valuable player of the match.

Myanmar’s only goal went to Myat Noe Khin, which was netted at the 22nd minute.

In the final match, Thailand defeated the Philippines 1-0 to become the new champions.
