The Hai Van Pass Tunnel Construction Project has received a technical prize from ACEC and an environmental award from the US Transportation Development Fund (TDF).

The technical prize was given to the best 24 outstanding projects on infrastructure construction selected from 170 projects in 2005. Notably, the Hai Van Pass Tunnel Construction Project is also the only project outside the US to have won the award.

The main contractor was the Project Management Unit 45 (PMU 45). The Louis Berger Group, Nippon Koei Group and Transport Engineering Design Incorporated (TEDI) joined in conducting surveys, designing, and supervising the construction of the project.
