Vietnamese expatriates in RoK welcome new spring

(VOV) -Hundreds of Vietnamese nationals living in the Republic of Korea got together at the Vietnamese Embassy headquarters in Seoul on January 19 to celebrate the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.

Ambassador Pham Huu Chi extended his best wishes to the more than 120,000 Vietnamese residents in the RoK on the traditional Tet holiday.

He affirmed the Party and State’s consistent policy of considering overseas Vietnamese an indispensable part of the Vietnamese nation.

The diplomat highlighted fruitful relations between Vietnam and the RoK, particularly in the field of labour export. In 2014, approximately 10,000 local guest workers are expected to be recruited to work in the RoK following its Employment Permit System (EPS).

He spoke highly of overseas Vietnamese’s contributions  strengthening bilateral ties and consolidating great national unity.

Chi also presented Tet gifts to the overseas Vietnamese Association, the Vietnamese Students’ Association, and representatives from the two Ly clans.
