During his visit to Vietnam, Speaker Taufiq Kiemas had meetings with Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Phu Trong and met with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The two sides acknowledged positive development of Vietnamese-Indonesia comprehensive cooperation and traditional friendship. Both affirmed their determination to make every effort to tighten the two countries’ relationship.

They also agreed to boost cooperation relations in such fields as economics, trade, and investment, push towards agreements and promote a closer coordination between the two countries within the framework of ASEAN, in order to maintain peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Speaker Taufiq Kiemas and his entourage also visited Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, Military History Museum and the Temple of Literature.
