NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong made the remark at a function between Party and State leaders and deputies of the 11^th legislature, which was hosted by the NA Standing Committee on March 30.

The legislative body has actively renewed its operations and better carried out its functions and tasks of building laws, making decisions on important national issues as well as supervising law enforcement, he said.

As representatives for the people, the legislature and its subordinate agencies as well as NA delegations and deputies held regular meetings with citizens to fully grasp and study their opinions, proposals and legitimate demands while disseminating information about laws to voters nationwide, Chairman Trong added.

The top legislator stressed that deputies have made every effort to serve as a bridge between the people and the NA, and the Party and the State, contributing to building a State of the people, by the people and for the people.
