A national family sports competition in the southern region opened in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on August 25, attracting 45 families from 26 provinces and cities.
The participating families will compete in three events: track-and-field, badminton and knowledge of culture, family, sports and tourism. Families scoring the highest number of points will be awarded.
The four-day event aims to encourage people to take part in sports activities and build healthy lifestyles and happy families.
A similar event was held in the Northern region from August 18-22.
