The Southern province of Ben Tre People’s Committee on August 12 announced that bird flu has been detected in An Binh Tay village, Ba Tri district.

The People’s Committee asked local authorities to contain and prevent the spread of the disease at any cost.

Le Tan Huu, head of the provincial Department of Veterinary said that they had culled all 420 ducks, testing positive for H5N1 virus, and had sterilised surrounding areas.
