Local athletes win five golds at world bodybuilding championships
VOV.VN - Vietnamese athletes claimed five gold and five silver medals at the 14th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF) championships which took place in the Republic of Korea (RoK).
Pham Van Mach bagged a gold medal in the men’s 55kg bodybuilding category, with this year marking the sixth time that the 47-year-old Vietnamese athlete has been crowned champion in this competition.
Meanwhile, Dinh Kim Loan proved her talent in the women’s 55kg bodybuilding event, with the latest win being the third championship title won by the 35-year-old athlete following her success back in 2015 and 2017.
Ho Huy Binh took home a gold medal in the men’s 70kg bodybuilding category. Elsewhere, Tran Bao Quoc Vuong in the men’s 65kg bodybuilding and Nguyen Thi Kim Dung in the women’s fitness over 1.65 metres also brought home two gold medals.
Other five silver medals went to Bui Dac Phi Vu in the men’s 55kg bodybuilding, Truong Hoang Long in the men’s 75kg bodybuilding, Bui Thi Thoa in the women’s over 55kg bodybuilding, Tran Hoang Duy Thuan in the men’s fitness 1.70 metres, and Tran Thi Cam Tu in the women’s fitness 1.65 metres.
The 14th World Body Building and Physique Sports Championship 2023 will last through to November 12, with the event attracting over 400 athletes from 60 countries and territories worldwide. Vietnam has sent a total of 22 athletes to the tournament.
