Hanoi advances its European relationships

(VOV) - A high-ranking Hanoi municipal official delegation led by Party Secretary Pham Quang Nghi concluded its 11-day tour of four European countries on November 29.

In Russia, the delegation met Ivan Melnikov, the Russian Duma’s First Vice President and the First Vice President of the Russian Communist Party’s Central Committee. They also held talks with Moscow leaders.

Both sides discussed practical measures for advancing their capital cities’ comprehensive cooperation. Moscow’s Deputy Mayor Petr Biriukov and Hanoi People’s Committee Vice Chairperson Vu Hong Khanh signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral friendship and cooperation.

Warsaw municipal leaders, receiving the Hanoi delegation on their Poland visit, expressed hopes of boosting cooperation and sharing experiences in relic preservation and socio-economic development.

During working sessions with Prague authorities and the Vice President of the Czech Communist Party, both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in urban management and heritage preservation.

In Hungary, Nghi and Budapest’s Deputy Mayor pledged to extend the successes of previously signed agreements while encouraging district and agency exchanges and cooperation to sustain the health of the two cities’ relationship.
