Vietnamese Liaison Committee debuts in Malaysia

(VOV) - A Vietnamese Liaison Committee representing the Vietnamese community in Malaysia has made its debut at the Kuala Lumpur-based Vietnamese Embassy.

It is the first time such a committee has been set up after 40 years of establishment of Vietnam-Malaysia diplomatic ties.

Head of the Committee Tran Hong Chung said the committee will serve as a bridge between the Vietnamese Embassy and the overseas Vietnamese community to help consolidate friendship and cooperation, encourage mutual support and preserve national customs and traditions in Malaysia.

The Liaison Committee and the Vietnamese Embassy co-hosted a get-together of the Vietnamese community in Malaysia to welcome the lunar New Year Festival (Tet) with diverse activities featuring art performances, folk games and traditional food.
