Nghinh Ong festival attracts crowd in Binh Thuan

Thousands of visitors flocked to the Nghinh Ong or Nghinh Ong Quan Thanh De Quan Festival in Phan Thiet city, the central coastal province of Binh Thuan, on August 26-28.

The biennial event aims to preserve and develop the folk culture of the Hoa ethnic community in Phan Thiet city as well as pray for peace, favourable weather, happiness and prosperity.

Since 1996, Binh Thuan has revived this festival and made it become one of the most attractive events in Phan Thiet city.

A highlight of the festival was the procession of Quan Thanh De Quan with the engagement of more than 700 people across the city’s streets.

Visitors could take part in a carnival, lion and dragon dances, and enjoy folk music.
