Party delegation attends preparatory meeting for big events in Russia

A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) attended a working group meeting in Moscow from April 21-23 to prepare for the 19th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP) and celebrations of 100 years of Russia’s October Revolution.

Tran Dac Loi, Vice Chairman of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, led the Vietnamese delegation to the meeting in Russia
Opening the meeting, head of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov highlighted the significance of the centennial of the October Revolution, which set up the first workers’ and farmers’ state in the world.

He stressed that Vladimir Lenin’s ideology, the ideology of socialism and justice, is still alive and will be continually brought into play.

To welcome big events in 2017, he called for special attention to the dissemination of the Marxism-Leninism and the role of communist parties’ members in defeating the fascism and liberating the working class.

At the preparatory meeting, 56 representatives of 27 delegations from communist and workers’ parties in such countries as Cuba, Brazil, Spain and Portugal discussed and approved the two main contents of the 19th IMCWP, which are the ideals of the communist movement and the world nowadays, and the revival of the struggle for socialism in the contemporary world.

Tran Dac Loi, Vice Chairman of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, gave some opinions on the celebrations of big events this year and the enhancement of cooperation among the parties.

During their stay in Russia, the CPV delegation met with Communist Party of Russia leader Gennady Zyuganov and Deputy Secretary of the ruling United Russia’s General Council Sergei Zheleznyak, who affirmed that they attach importance to and want to tighten relations with Vietnam and the CPV.

The Vietnamese and Russian officials discussed measures to promote cooperation between the CPV and the Communist Party of Russia and the United Russia.

After the working sessions, the Vietnamese delegation laid a wreath at the Lenin Mausoleum and met the Vietnamese Embassy staff in Russia.
