Miss Universe contestants attend national gift auction

(VOV) -On December 10, Miss Universe contestants were at Opportunity Village to donate gifts from each of their countries to a silent auction to raise funds for the Las Vegas beloved local charity.

Pham Huong donated a 24k pure gold lotus— a symbol in Vietnamese culture for purity, serenity and commitment.

Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization serving children and adults in the southern Nevada community with intellectual disabilities, to enhance their lives and the lives of the families who love them.

The village is dedicated to helping people become the very best they can be.

Through activities sponsored by it, citizens with severe disabilities are able to find new friends, realize future career paths, seek independence and community integration and unleash their creative passions.

Meanwhile, it was announced that Emmy Award winner Steve Harvey will host the three-hour 2015 Miss Universe Pageant from Planet Hollywood on Dec 20 (local time).

Miss Universe features 80 contestants, including 2015 Miss Vietnam Pham Huong.

The glamour girls have been popping up all over town in Vegas filming segments for the pageant, including the Opportunity Village silent auction.

The event was ‘cocktail chic attire’, according to the Miss Universe website.
