Miss Universe contestants attend national gift auction
(VOV) -On December 10, Miss Universe contestants were at Opportunity Village to donate gifts from each of their countries to a silent auction to raise funds for the Las Vegas beloved local charity.
Pham Huong donated a 24k pure gold lotus— a symbol in Vietnamese culture for purity, serenity and commitment. |
Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization serving children and adults in the southern Nevada community with intellectual disabilities, to enhance their lives and the lives of the families who love them. |
The village is dedicated to helping people become the very best they can be. |
Through activities sponsored by it, citizens with severe disabilities are able to find new friends, realize future career paths, seek independence and community integration and unleash their creative passions. |
Meanwhile, it was announced that Emmy Award winner Steve Harvey will host the three-hour 2015 Miss Universe Pageant from Planet Hollywood on Dec 20 (local time). |
Miss Universe features 80 contestants, including 2015 Miss Vietnam Pham Huong. |
The glamour girls have been popping up all over town in Vegas filming segments for the pageant, including the Opportunity Village silent auction. |
The event was ‘cocktail chic attire’, according to the Miss Universe website. |
