Vietnam to attend Chingay parade

(VOV) -A number of artists from the Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre will represent the country at the Chingay parade –  one of Asia’s grandest parades set for  February 27-28 in Singapore.

At a press conference on January 14, Chief Executive Director of Singapore's People's Association (PA) Ang Hak Seng stressed this will be the largest festival ever since its first launch in 1973.

The two-day event will gather 3,000 parade volunteers and 11,000 amateur and professional performers including 1,000 foreign artists from 15 countries across the world.

Each represented country will introduce the unique characteristics of its culture and send best wishes to Singaporean people on the occasion of Singapore's 50th anniversary of independence.

At a recent interview with a Vietnamese reporter in Singapore, Ang Hak Seng said the event will not only contribute to boosting cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore, but also enhance mutual understating between the two sides.
