Beauty contestants on August 28 entered the final sub-contest titled “Miss Beach” in the final round of the Miss Vietnam Global 2007 Contest.

Vietnamese beauties in colourful bikinis gathered in the Water park at Vinpearl Resort in Nha Trang early in the morning. Both contestants and reporters felt that the sub-contest was very jubilant and attractive.

The 2007 Miss Vietnam Universal’s runner-up Nguyen Cao Thu Van from the US said Nha Trang’s beach is very beautiful. She said she had a chance to go to the beaches in Florida and Hawaii but Nha Trang is second to none in the world. She emphasized the need to raise public awareness about keeping their beaches clean and beautiful.

In the previous contests, the jury usually formed their judgements on the contestants’ facial beauty. However, the jury in this contest paid attention to the contestants’ physical beauty, youthfulness and knowledge about the sea. Contestants introduced themselves and then answered questions from the jury.

The event drew a large number of reporters, particularly photographers, who had a chance to capture the most beautiful images of contestants in good weather conditions and in a beautiful landscape.

Tran Minh Ngoc, a reporter from The gioi and Vietnam (the World and Vietnam) newspaper, said: “All contestants looked charming in their dresses and performed well on the beach to show their beauty and character, as well as their attitude towards the sea, especially the Nha Trang sea”.

With the Miss Beach Contest, the final round of the Miss Vietnam Global 2007 Contest has finished two thirds of its programme. Contestants showed their beauty and ability in a fine manner. In the coming days, they will spend time practising and preparing for the final round, which is scheduled to take place on the National Day (September 2).
