NA Standing Committee convenes its 50th session

VOV.VN - The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Monday begins its 50th session to discuss the implementation of socio-economic tasks and state budget since the beginning of this year and measures to accomplish activities set tasks in the second half of the year.

Other issues to be discussed include a draft program on the National Assembly and National Assembly Standing Committee’s supervisory work for 2017 and a law-making program for 2016.

In the morning, the Minister of Planning and Investment reported on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the 1st half of the year and measures to accomplish tasks until the end of the year.

The Minister of Finance reported on the state budget and the Heads of the National Assembly’s Economics, Finance, and Budget Committees delivered reports on their sectors.

Discussing the Government reports, lawmakers agreed that in the first half of this year, Vietnam’s GDP growth rate was 5.52%, compared to the rate of 6.32% of the same period last year.

The decrease was attributed to falls in growth of the agricultural and mining sectors.

During the two-day event, NA deputies will also discuss the Government’s structure, organisation and members in the 14 th tenure of the National Assembly, and its draft decree on several specific mechanisms on investment, finance, budget and management decentralisation for Danang city.
