Transport Minister, Inspector General to be relieved of duties

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented a proposal on relieving Minister of Transport Truong Quang Nghia and Government Inspector General Phan Van Sau of their duties for the 2016-2021 tenure, at the National Assembly’s sitting on October 24 afternoon.

Earlier, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the Political Bureau has assigned Truong Quang Nghia, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Minister of Transport, to join Da Nang city’s Party Committee and the municipal Party Committee’s Standing Board, and to hold the post of Secretary of the municipal Party Committee for the 2015-2020 tenure. 

The Political Bureau also agreed to designate Phan Van Sau, member of the CPV Central Committee and Government Inspector General, as a member of Soc Trang province’s Party Committee and the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, and to hold the post of Secretary of the provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term.

Relevant agencies have promptly completed personnel nomination procedures to be submitted to the NA for consideration and approval, she said, asking deputies to mull over the proposal and attached documents. 

The outcomes of the discussions are expected to be presented on October 25 by Tran Van Tuy, member of the NA’s Standing Committee and head of the NA’s Committee for Deputy Affairs.

The legislature will work on procedures to approve the proposal by casting secrete ballots. 

Also in the October 24 sitting, legislators looked into the amended draft Law on Forest Protection.

The 14th NA’s fourth session is set to last until November 24.
