Voters concerned about economic growth

(VOV) - HCM City voters have proposed that the government devise a medium-term economic recovery plan and introduce effective solutions to agricultural production.

They made the proposal during a June 24 meeting with President Truong Tan Sang who briefed them on the results of the recent National Assembly meeting.

They said they were following with keen interest the Q&A session of the recent legislative meeting, hoping Cabinet members will keep their promise, especially in controlling public debts and budget collection and spending.

The voters also raised concerns about weaknesses in land management, health services for the poor, policy implementation for social policy beneficiaries, increased smuggling and food management.

Sang acknowledged their aspirations and asked them to oversee Cabinet members fulfil their promise.

“If you are not satisfied with any government members’ answer, you are entitled to raise questions to them through NA deputies,” Sang told the voters.

The President noted that the Party has just institutionalised the steering committee for corruption control to increase its operational efficiency. It is also completing the supervisory regulations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, making it easier for people to oversee corrupt behaviour.

He also admitted that the organisation of festivals and inauguration ceremonies of construction works causes waste which should be addressed soon.

As a NA deputy, the President pledged to work closely with other deputies to live up to voters’ expectations.
