Le Trung Hieu, deputy head of the organizing board highlighted the great significance of accelerating trade exchanges between Vietnam and countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region.
The fair is part of the national trade promotion programme for 2019 which has been approved by the Minister of Industry and Trade.
This is the first time such a fair has been elevated to the national and international level from a provincial border expo.
Over 110 Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses showcased their products across 240 booths in fields such as agro-fisheries, consumer goods, handicrafts, and home decoration items, among others.
The trade fair has helped boost An Giang’s position as a gateway for businesses that seek to strengthen trade exchanges and co-operation with regional partners, as well as those which are looking to introduce domestic goods to markets throughout the Greater Mekong Sub-region.
The event has also served to help the province fully tap into its potential as a border economy, which in turn will bolster exports and attract greater investment.
