Vietnamese tea receives ‘Tea of the World’ awards

VOV.VN - Vietnamese tea products from Thai Nguyen, Con Linh-Ha Giang, and Moc Chau-Son La have received awards at the first ‘Tea of the World’ AVPA Paris 2018 International contest.

The rizoté tea of Thai Nguyen won the silver award and the Carosa Black tea of Con Linh, Ha Giang won the bronze award.

Former Secretary General of the EU Tea Committee Barbara Dufrene said, “I think Vietnam has a huge source of tea, part of which is for export.

Vietnam has had brilliant initiatives to promote high quality tea products from localities. Vietnam’s northern region belongs to an area that we called the golden triangle, which is home to tea. Tea products from this region are highly evaluated in the European market.”

French tea blending expert Carine Baudry said Vietnam’s northern region has special conditions for tea growing. Vietnam’s tea cultivation technique has also been improved, she added.
