11 high-profile footballers miss out on latest Vietnam squad

VOV.VN - Here is a list of 11 Vietnamese football players who failed to make the latest national team squad ahead of the upcoming qualifiers in the Asian region for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh of Viettel FC has not been called up by head coach Park Hang-seo, despite his impressive performances during the 2021 V.League 1 season.

Defender Doan Van Hau of Hanoi FC has missed the chance due to injury.

Defender Nguyen Huu Tuan of Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC has also failed to fly to the United Arab Emirates for the qualifiers.

Due to injury, defender Nguyen Duc Chien of Viettel is unable to be included in the national lineup for the qualifiers.

Nguyen Huy Hung of Da Nang FC is left out of the squad despite showing flashes of his outstanding ability at both the 2018 AFF Cup and the 2019 Asian Cup.

An injury will force Hanoi FC’s midfielder Do Hung Dung to stay at home and watch his teammates play in the UAE.

Midfielder Ho Khac Ngoc of Viettel FC is unable to be called up for the qualifiers due to injury.

Hanoi FC’s right winger Ngan Van Dai doesn’t feature in the latest squad, despite numerous strong performances in the V.League 1.

Left winger Vo Huy Toan of Ho Chi Minh City FC doesn’t make Park Hang-seo’s latest squad, although he has impressed in the V.League 1 this season.

Widely considered to be one of the strongest strikers, 2020 Vietnam Golden Ball award winner Nguyen Van Quyet of Hanoi FC isn’t included in the team.

Former national team striker Nguyen Anh Duc of Long An FC is not called up by Park Hang-seo, even after recently coming out of retirement.
