Tam Chuc pagoda ready for UN Day of Vesak 2019
VOV.VN - The preparations for the UN Day of Vesak 2019 have been completed, according to Most Venerable Thich Minh Quang, Tam Chuc Pagoda’s representative and a member of the organising board.
The theme for this year’s UN Day of Vesak is to be “Buddhist Approach to Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Sustainable Societies”. It will open at 8:00 in the Tam Chuc Buddhist Cultural Centre in the northern province of Ha Nam on May 12. This is the third time Vietnam has hosted the event. |

Dozens of flags and banners are arranged along the road leading towards Tam Chuc pagoda. Some 1,650 international delegates from 112 nations and territories have confirmed their participation in the event with Indian Vice President Venkaiah Naidu is set to be the keynote speaker. |

Work on the conference room has been completed. During the three-day event, there will be forums held to discuss responsible leadership for sustainable societies, Buddhism’s approach to a harmonious family, education, responsible consumption, and how Buddhism fits in with Industry 4.0. |

The area in front of Tam Chuc pagoda is where acts of remembrance will be held. Party, State, Vietnam Buddhist Sangha leaders, and some 20,000 local and overseas Buddhist followers will attend the event. |
