VOV.VN - Ahead of the 13th national congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), several Egyptian newspapers have published articles online praising Vietnam’s success in the 2016-2020 term and 35 years of implementing its Doi Moi (Renewal) process under the CPV leadership.

On Eventsmagazinenews, Ahmed Hassan reviewed Vietnam’s major achievements in the 2016-2020 period, noting that it is the CPV that has led the Vietnamese people to weather the storm and record special economic achievements, helping to elevate the country’s status in the international arena as well as in the Middle East - Africa region.

The author emphasized that over the past four years, Vietnam has been one of the top 10 economies with the highest growth in the world and one of the 16 most successful emerging economies. In 2020 alone he said the Southeast Asian nation recorded an economic growth rate of 2.91% despite the global economic fallout due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With regard to foreign affairs, Ahmed Hassan wrote, Vietnam has also made remarkable achievements by connecting and enhancing friendly relations, cooperation and confidence between countries inside and outside the region in the context of geopolitical instability.

For the Middle East - Africa region, over the past five years, bilateral political - diplomatic and economic relations have been continuously strengthened and expanded. Vietnam’s active, proactive and responsible contribution to solving global problems, including many issues in the Middle East and Africa, has won the trust of many countries.

The author concluded that the success of the 13th National Party Congress is not only significant to Vietnam’s development in the coming years, but also opens up new prospects of promoting further relations between Vietnam and the Middle East - Africa, including Egypt.

Meanwhile, elWatan News, the second largest online newspaper in Egypt, also published an article praising Vietnam’s Renewal achievements under the CPV leadership. It said after more than 35 years of implementing the Renewal process, Vietnam has grown itself into a developing, middle-income nation, a dynamic market economy that is rapidly integrating into the world.

Along with the implementation of the Renewal policy, Vietnam has actively participated in and contributed to most important international organizations and forums. In 2019, Vietnam was honored for the second time to be elected as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 term with an almost absolute number of votes in the United Nations General Assembly.

The article attributed those achievements to the clear-sighted leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam founded by President Ho Chi Minh. It concluded the Party’s upcoming 13th congress in Hanoi is of paramount importance as it will chart a new course of development for Vietnam in the next five years and beyond.

The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam will take place in Hanoi from January 25 to February 2.
