Indonesian military official visits Vietnam

Sen. Lt. Gen. Do Ba Ty, who is also Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, received Indonesian Air Chief Marshal Ida Bagus Putu Dunia in Hanoi on May 20 on the occasion of his working visit to Vietnam.

During the reception, Ty highlighted the visit as a step towards increasing bilateral friendship and cooperation between the two peoples and armed forces, benefiting regional peace and development.

The Indonesian official informed the host of the outcomes of his earlier working sessions with the High Command of Air Defence and Air Force.

He is later scheduled to visit several more units there.

Vietnam and Indonesia established diplomatic ties in 1955. They lifted bilateral relations to a strategic partnership level during President Truong Tan Sang’s visit to Indonesia in 2013.
