Both sides are striving to elevate bilateral trade to US$1.7 billion by 2020, making economic cooperation become a pillar of their relationship.

Vietnam and Australia have celebrated the 45th anniversary of their diplomatic ties early this year and the two countries are maintaining sound bilateral trade growing at 12.5% annually. Trade value hit beyond US$9 billion in 2017.

Australia has run 378 projects totally capitalized at US$1.7 billion in Vietnam, covering industry and construction, services, education, processing industry and agro-forestry-fisheries sector.
