Top Lao leader meets former Vietnamese voluntary soldiers, experts

VOV.VN - General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith gave a reception in Hanoi on October 29 to a delegation of former Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts in Laos.

During the reception, Bounnhang Vorachith glowingly spoke of the enormous contributions by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts to Laos’ past struggles for national independence and the current national construction and development.

Laos is ready to work closely with Vietnam to nurture the everlasting great friendship, special solidarity and all-around cooperation between the two nations while educating future generations on the special solidarity, the Lao leader said.

Head of the national liaison committee for former Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts in Laos Major Huynh Dac Huong said the two countries shared all the victories, and should continue to preserve their solidarity for sustainable development in the time to come.

Both sides shared memories on the days Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts fought side by side with Lao armed forces and people.

The top Lao leader is on a Vietnam visit to attend the ceremony to mark the 70th Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Experts in Laos.
