US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman visits Vietnam
(VOV) - A senior military delegation led by Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey is paying an official visit to Vietnam from August 13-16 to boost friendship between the two armies.
The visit is made at the invitation of Sen. Lt. Gen. Deputy Defence Minister Do Ba Ty, who is also Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).
On the occasion, both sides will review the results of bilateral defence cooperation in recent times and devise orientations for broader cooperation in the time ahead.
Talks between Do Ba Ty and Martin Dempsey are scheduled to take place on August 14 following an official welcoming ceremony for the US delegation.
