Vietnam joins ASEAN defence chief informal meeting
(VOV) - Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Senior Lieut. Gen. Do Ba Ty is leading a high-ranking defence delegation of the Defence Ministry to the 11th ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Informal Meeting (ACDFIM-11) in Myanmar.
ACDFIM-11 will be held from March 4-6 with the theme “Defence Cooperation towards Peaceful and Prosperous ASEAN Community”.
The agenda will focus on measures to enhance trust and coordination among ASEAN armies in coping with security challenges, particularly non-traditional ones, thus making a practical contribution to the formation of a peaceful and prosperous ASEAN Community by 2015.
The ASEAN military intelligence informal meeting and ASEAN military operations informal meetings will also take place within the ACDFIM-11 framework.
