Vietnam, Mongolia desire to further broaden ties

VOV.VN -Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung glowingly spoke of the sound development of cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia since both nations established diplomatic ties in 1954, and Mongolia’s support for Vietnam’s past struggles for national independence.

At a reception in Hanoi on May 18 for State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Davaasuren Damdinsuren, Trung said Vietnam and Mongolia will celebrate the 65th anniversary of their diplomatic ties next year.

Since the establishment of the diplomatic ties, the two countries have stepped cooperation in diverse and regularly conducted student exchange, he told his guest.

He also highlighted both sides’ great potential for augmenting bilateral cooperation in economics and trade while asking the two governments offer more favourable conditions for their businesses to hold meetings and seek partnerships.

In reply, the Mongolian diplomat said his country desires to expand the bilateral ties, there by delivering more practical outcomes in multiple fields.

He said his visit is designed to learn from Vietnam’s experience in developing and implementing free trade agreements, noting that the trip has been very productive, helping increase bilateral cooperation over recent years. 

Vietnam-Mongolia trade ties have grown steadily over the past years, prominently evidenced by reciprocal visits by ministries and agencies to discuss issues of shared concern, he said. He also hoped that both sides will boost closer coordination at international forums.
