1,300 packs of smuggled cigarettes seized

VOV.VN - A total of 1,300 packs of smuggled cigarettes have been seized in Mong Cai city by Quang Ninh Province Department of Customs .

According to initial reports, the customs forces noticed a suspicious boat sailing with no registration plate as they patrolled the waters on Ka Long River at km 3 in Hai Yen ward.

Upon being disturbed, the suspect sailed the boat towards the Chinese border, leaving the cargo behind.

Upon recovering the haul, customs officials discovered the cargo consisted 1,300 packs of cigarettes, all of which originated from China.

The authorities are investigating the case further.
