ABG 5 Int’l communications centre opens

The Fifth Asian Beach Games (ABG 5) International Communications Centre (ICC) was inaugurated in the central city of Da Nang on September 23.

Comprising an international television centre and a press centre, the ICC can accommodate nearly 200 reporters at one time. 

The centre is equipped with advanced equipment, including big screens for live sport events, high speed internet broadband, printers, photocopiers and 20 computer sets.

Volunteers are also available to support reporters in covering the games.

The ABG 5 is scheduled for September 24-October 3 in Da Nang. It will see the participation of over 4,500 athletes, coaches and officials from 42 countries and territories who are competing in 14 sports with 22 events for 172 sets of medals.

The opening ceremony will take place at the city’s Bien Dong (East Sea) Park on September 24.
