A young man who was allegedly shocked after using drugs killed two girls and wounded four others, including his mother and sister, in Dong Nai Province on June 20.

Locals in Long Tan Commune, Nhon Trach District, seized 25-year-old Pham Van Manh after he used an ice-cutting knife to stab twin 7-month-old baby girls, Nguyen Vy Phuong and Nguyen Phuong Vy, to death, and injured three women and a boy, at 1:30 pm on June 20.

The injured women were Ho Thi Pham, 83, Tran Thi Xinh, 55, and Pham Thi Gai, and the wounded boy was 7-year-old Pham Duy Truong.

All of them suffered injuries on their head and arms and were taken to the Dong Nai General Hospital.

“Manh has a wife and a 4-year-old daughter. He has been addicted to drugs for several months,” said Xinh, who is Manh’s mother. “He was undergoing detoxification at home. When I saw him stabbing people, I tried to stop him and he then attacked both me and his sister, Gai.”

According to witnesses, Manh committed the crime while he was in a state of shock due to his drug abuse.
Before this deadly attack, he had tried to stab another woman who was carrying her child on a motorbike, but luckily he missed the stab, witnesses said.

He then turned to strike a man driving a motorbike.

Local police have detained Manh for investigation.
