An Giang lays martyrs from Cambodia to rest

Remains of 172 martyrs were laid to rest in Ba Dac Hill Martyrs’ Cemetery in Thoi Son commune, Tinh Bien district of the Mekong Delta province of An Giang at a ceremony on July 24.

Participants offer incenses to the martyrs

According to Colonel Pham Quang Trung, head of searching Team K93 under the An Giang Military High Command, the remains were searched and repatriated from Cambodia and An Giang during the 2018-2019 dry season.

Only three martyrs were identified, he added and called on people across the country to contact the team if they have any information of the areas where martyrs’ remains are buried in the past, thus supporting the team during the searching process.

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman of the People’s Committee of An Giang Nguyen Thanh Binh lauded efforts of Teams K90 and K93 as well as the support of locals and authorities of An Giang and Cambodian localities during the search.

Meanwhile, in the northern province of Bac Ninh, an exhibition was held on the occasion of the 72nd Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27), displaying more than 300 photos, documents and items highlighting activities by the Party and the State in caring for war invalids and families of the martyrs, as well as stories of heroic martyrs and mothers in Bac Ninh, and the province’s efforts to support war invalids and policy beneficiaries.

At the exhibition, which will stay open until the end of August, the Bac Ninh Museum received a number of war documents and exhibits donated by individuals and organisations.
