Chinese citizen arrested for credit appropriation
Hanoi Police have arrested Feng Hai Qiang, a Chinese citizen, for using counterfeit debit cards to appropriate cash from automated teller machines (ATM).
Investigating the suspect, local police on June 18 detected him carrying 14 counterfeit ATM cards and VND6.5 million (US$305) illegally withdrawn from ATMs, along with ATM card making equipment.
This is the first case of its kind detected in Hanoi, said Major Ngo Minh Quang from the Hanoi Police’s High-tech Crime Prevention Faculty (PC50).
He added the police force is collaborating with other relevant agencies to investigate into the case.
