COVID-19: An Indian case confirmed on Apr. 24 morning

VOV.VN - An Indian citizen coming to Vietnam on business has been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, said the Ministry of Health in its 06.00hrs update on April 24.

The 49-year-old expert flew from his home country through Dubai to Vietnam’s Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi capital on April 18.

He was placed in quarantine as soon as he arrived.

The expert tested positive on April 23 and was immediately transferred to Hanoi-based Hospital for Tropical Diseases for medical surveillance and treatment.

Meanwhile, another Vietnamese citizen returning from Japan was also confirmed as a coronavirus infection case at the same time.

The two newly-detected cases raised the national count of coronavirus infections to 2,832.

Over the past weeks, Vietnam has recorded no new locally-transmitted cases, but imported cases returning from epidemic hit countries, including Russia, the US, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Angola, and several ASEAN countries.

Earlier the Ministry of Health announced a total of 14 imported cases on April 23, including six in the afternoon.
