COVID-19: One imported case from Indonesia detected

VOV.VN - The total number of infections in Vietnam rose to 1,549 following the detection of one imported case of COVID-19 from Indonesia, the Ministry of Health said on January 25.

The new patient who is a 47-year-old Vietnamese woman, entered Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on flight SQ192. She is currently placed into isolation to undergo treatment at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi-based Dong Anh district after her test results on January 11 and January 24 came back positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

As of June 25, the country recorded 1,549 COVID-19 infections in total, including 693 locally-transmitted cases, and 856 imported into the nation.

The same day, a further 14 coronavirus patients were declared free from the coronavirus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,425. The number of deaths related to the disease remains at 35.

Among the patients receiving treatment nationwide, 31 tested negative for the virus at least one, with the majority giving negative results.

As many as 20,890 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or entered Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions are under quarantine across the nation, including 127 in hospitals, and the remainder in state-designated establishments or at their homes.
