VOV.VN -A severe downpour brought on by the effects of typhoon Podul caused extensive damage to a number of large trees throughout the capital city of Hanoi on August 29.

A number of large trees are uprooted as a result of the strong winds and heavy downpours which batter the capital.

A tree collapses across a pavement close by to a kindergarten due to the fierce impact of the typhoon.
 
Nghia Tan street in Cau Giay district see several trees uproot as a result of the strong winds.
 
A fallen tree on Tran Dai Nghia street can not stand the force of the typhoon.
A person was killed after being hit by a falling tree near West Lake.
Another person was taken to hospital after being crushed by a falling tree on Hoang Hoa Tham street.
A book market in the Discovery 302 building in Cau Giay is destroyed after being battered by strong winds and heavy rain.
Severe congestion affected streets throughout Hanoi following the typhoon.
The traffic jams in the capital leave many vehicles unable to move.
Long queues of vehicles and motorcycles form on main roads across the city, including Pham Ngoc Thach and Nga Tu So.
