Dong Thap takes the lead in Mekong Delta region’s labour exports

VOV.VN - From the beginning of the year, the Dong Thap provincial Employment Service Centre has sent 1,110 locals to work abroad, 110 more guest workers than the target set for the year, according to the Centre’s director Nguyen Thi Minh Tuyet.

Japan topped recruiters, taking in 807 Dong Thap guest workers, followed by Taiwan with 202 workers and the Republic of Korea with 49 labourers.

Around 1,409 provincial workers have registered at the Centre for work placement abroad.

At present, Japan attracts a large number of provincial labourers working in the fields of mechanics, construction, automobile technology and food packaging.

Particularly, automobile technology and food packaging require a high number of employees and provide an average monthly wage of VND30 million.

More than 80 Dong Thap workers were sent to work abroad on July 15.
