Flooding sweeps away more 14 houses in Tra Leng commune

VOV.VN - Flash floods hit Tra Leng commune of Nam Tra My district in the central province of Quang Nam on November 6, with a total of 14 houses in village 2 being swept away as a result of the weather event.

Village 2 in Tra Leng commune of Quang Nam province completely disappears following a flash flood which hit the area at 4 p.m. on November 6. Fortunately, all of the local people had been safely evacuated before the arrival of the flooding, whilst no deaths were confirmed, according to Tran Van Man, vice chairman of Nam Tra My district’s administration.

This marks the second flash flood that has directly impacted residents in Tra Leng commune.

Flooding in the area occurs following a terrible landslide hitting village 1 in Tra Leng commune of Nam Tra My district on October 28. The incident left at least nine local people dead, with a further 13 individuals missing, whilst dozens of people were injured and 11 houses were completely wiped out.

Tran Van Man, vice chairman of Nam Tra My district’s administration, said 16 families residing across 14 houses in village 2 of Tra Leng commune were successfully evacuated to safe areas, adding that flash floods are a result of a prolonged period of rain over the past few days.
